Who this consultation is for

This review suits people who hold workplace pensions, personal pensions, or a mix of both and want a clear picture of later-life income before they stop work—or soon after they begin drawing pots. Couples with overlapping retirement dates find it especially useful because the plan looks at shared household cash flow, not just one person’s statements.

What you receive

We collect and organise your pension statements, estimate State Pension entitlement based on your National Insurance record summary, and map likely income against everyday spending. You leave with a written retirement income map that shows:

  • Which pots are flexible drawdown, annuity candidates, or still deferred
  • How tax bands may affect withdrawals in the first five years of retirement
  • A simple cash reserve target for the first twelve to eighteen months
  • Open questions that need a decision (for example, whether to take tax-free cash now or later)

How the process works

  1. Discovery call (20 minutes) — We confirm whether a full review is the right fit and outline the fee.
  2. Document pack — You share recent statements, State Pension forecast, and a rough monthly budget. We supply a checklist.
  3. Working session — We walk through options, trade-offs, and sequencing—not product pitches.
  4. Written map — Within ten working days of the working session you receive the income map and a short follow-up call to clarify wording.

Duration and delivery

Most reviews span three to four weeks from discovery call to written map. Meetings take place at our Old Doylewick office or by video call for clients elsewhere in Great Britain. We do not visit workplaces or hold evening clinics.

Preparation

Bring or upload the last annual statement for each pension, your State Pension forecast letter or online summary, and a note of secured income such as rental or part-time work you expect to keep. If a former employer scheme is hard to find, we can help you draft tracing letters—but locating old schemes may extend the timeline.

Pricing basis

Fees start from £650 for a couple’s review when up to four pension pots are in scope. Larger numbers of schemes, overseas transfers, or defined benefit transfers requiring specialist referral are priced after the discovery call. Payment is due before the working session; see our fees page and refund policy.

Next step

Request a discovery call and tell us roughly when you hope to stop work. We reply within two working days with availability and a fee note.
